Trip Planner: USA / California / California Desert / Greater Palm Springs / Palm Springs / Palm Springs Art Museum
Located in a building that itself is a work of art, Palm Springs Art Museum boasts a collection by prominent modern and contemporary artists. Hidden in this desert oasis are the works of Pablo Picasso, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, and many others. Contemporary design, painting, sculpture, and photography reside with Native American and Mesoamerican art. The two styles seamlessly blend and bring out the essence of the American Southwest as the meeting point of the two worlds, ancient and modern. Temporary exhibits boost the rich permanent collection. The museum offers very popular, expert guided tours. If you’re interested in taking part, you should make a telephone reservation ahead of time. From the moment you enter a volunteer will help guide your visit and you will exit with a greater appreciation of local artists as well as those being showcased. Also, be sure to stop the gift shop!

A small but decent museum, with travelling exhibits and a solid permanent collection. Outside in bottom is a nice place to hang out with sculptures.

We love this gem of desert. It’s surprising to see how well they curate everything. It’s not a huge Museum but with 4 floors and sculpture garden you can spend your afternoon here simply as they have spectacular exhibitions going on. Also we want to highlight how nice every staff is!! They’re so kind and knowledgeable, especially John he introduced to us some amazing pieces and how& why they were made this way. We feel like home when visiting this place, it’s such a pleasure.
I really enjoyed my visit to palm springs art museum. They have a good collection if modernist art. There was a bit of a line to get in, buying tickets in advance is a good idea. Worth a visit if you are in Palm Springs. They do have reciprocal membership if you are a member at one of the many museums in LA. Ample free parking around the museum
