Nissa la Bella (Nice the Beautiful)

Well-known for the beautiful views of its famous Promenade des Anglais waterfront, Nice is an ethnically-diverse coastal port city on the French Riviera and the fifth most populated city in France.
Change things up with these side-trips from Nice: Cannes (Lérins Islands, Mairie de Cannes, &more). There's still lots to do: wander the streets of Old Town, don't miss a visit to Avenue Jean Medecin, take some stellar pictures from Colline du Chateau overlook, and see the interesting displays at Musée Marc Chagall.

Paris to Nice is an approximately 3-hour flight. You can also take a train; or drive. Prepare for somewhat warmer weather when traveling from Paris in December: high temperatures in Nice hover around 17°C and lows are around 8°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Mon) to allow time to fly to Lille.

Cultural Heart of Northern France

On the Deûle River near the Belgium border, Lille has a very active cultural life as France's fifth-largest metropolitan area and the fourth-largest urban area with a large college student population.
Explore Lille's surroundings by going to Phare de Gravelines (in Gravelines), Calais Wine Superstore (in Calais) and Reims (Fontaine Sube, Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Reims, &more). There's still lots to do: test your problem-solving skills at popular escape rooms, don't miss a visit to Australian Memorial Park, take an in-depth tour of Maison de Jules Verne, and stop by St-Leu.

Getting from Nice to Lille by flight takes about 3.5 hours. Other options: take a train; or drive. Expect little chillier temperatures when traveling from Nice in December; daily highs in Lille reach 9°C and lows reach 3°C.
