Rome — 34 nights

Aptly nicknamed the Eternal City, Rome is the birthplace of the Roman Empire, one of the world's greatest civilizations ever.
Get out of town with these interesting Rome side-trips: Tivoli (Chiesa di Santa Maria Maggiore, Villa d'Este, &more), Borgo di Isola Farnese (in Isola Farnese) and Santuario Francescano del Presepe (in Greccio). There's lots more to do: pause for some serene contemplation at St. Peter's Basilica, admire the masterpieces at Galleria Borghese, contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Vatican Museums, and wander the streets of Trastevere.
