Circ Roma once offered the most popular mass spectacle of its time: chariot races. Modern Tarragona was built on top of many such ruins. In the first century, this one formed part of a monumental complex. It measures 325 x 115 m (1060 x 380 ft), much of which remains well preserved. Visiting these ancient Roman ruins while visiting Spain was an unexpected delight. It’s so interesting how they have been excavated from under the existing buildings. The kids loved travel underground through the tunnels. The were to entertained and learned a lot from this experience.
