Catedral Basilica Metropolitana Primada de Tarragona
Construction on Catedral Basilica Metropolitana Primada de Tarragona began in 1171, and over the centuries it developed into a massive and massively impressive piece of architecture. The best way to see it is on the full tour, which also takes you up the bell tower for views over the city, then to the remains of the Roman wall that once stood here and into the Diocesan museum. Highlights include the facade, which is adorned with carvings of saints and prophets, the triple arcade and series of arches that border the peaceful, park-like cloister, and the medieval Christian art and Moorish artifacts in the museum. The cathedral offers audio guides to rent for your visit. Our Tarragona trip itinerary planner makes visiting Catedral Basilica Metropolitana Primada de Tarragona and other Tarragona attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.

A very exceptional cathedral, so much larger than what the front area suggests. One of the few that opens some of its chapels for closer inspection by the public and was also pleased to find numerous artifacts in the back area in exhibition akin to what you'd at a museum. The accessible garden is also notable for being well manicured and possessing impressive views back to the cathedral.

There was a wedding ceremony when we been there. Very interesting, a lot of people - the relatives, guests, tourist. The bride looks happy
