Majestic entrance walking from the historic isthmus of Peñiscola, the Gibraltar of Valencia. Notice the coat of arms of Papa Luna in the center--during times of plague or siege the city would close off this entrance (unfortunately they didn't shut the door during Coronavirus :) The walk up begins here on an incline, be careful because it can be slippery.

The Porta de Sant Pere is one of the two usual entrances to visit the Castle and the old city of Peñíscola. It is an entrance with a wide and low arch that goes from side to side of the cobbled slope. I love it, and it is one of the first places where visitors usually stop to take pictures. Don't pass by, it's very pretty!
