The site of the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony each year, Rådhuset also serves as the nexus for the municipal government and one of the city's most recognizable buildings. Built over a period of nearly 20 years beginning in 1931, the building survived German occupation during World War II. The central facility features modern brick architecture, including two towers rising to a height of 66 m (217 ft). Be sure to listen for the carillon that rings out from one tower on the hour. Explore the interior to see the extensive frescoes and oil paintings that cover the walls, depicting famous events, legends, and themes from Norwegian history. The banquet hall also features paintings of royalty and more oil frescoes. It's a rather ugly brick building, and what probably once was a modern look in the mid-1900's now look pretty dated.

Another great art station in Stockholm

This place is a work of art with its unique architecture! Since you’re in you start thinking of being lost in another world underground. Definitely one of the most interesting subways to check out.
