  • This is Harstad Kirke, a modern church (celebrating 60 years next year). Several reviews and photos have been posted here of what is instead Trondenes Kirke, a medieval church located outside town...

  • Harstad Church is a beautiful building, architecturally. Simple and strict form, modern, the architect was Jan Inge Hovig. Also inside it is a beautiful building, the light falls in different ways as the sun goes its course. The stained glass windows are also beautiful. The altar painting is monumental and in a simple form. We can wonder a little about the portrayal of Hans Egnede in Greenland as a missionary, where the Inuit flock around him to hear the good news. He was a seconded missionary from the Danish great power. This time I listened to images from an exhibition at the Army's music corps, which among other things played Mussorgsky.
  • Very little interest. Please note that access to places of worship is chargeable.
