Climb more than 400 steps to the top of Campanile di Giotto to enjoy views of Florence. At a height of almost 90 m (280 ft), the 14th-century tower features seven antique bells and is considered a masterpiece of Florentine Gothic architecture. Admire the ornate detail of the tower's exterior styling, which includes several reliefs, statues, and carved panels. Wear good walking shoes for the hike to the top, because the stairs are narrow and steep. Your admission ticket also provides entry to the adjoining cathedral, baptistery, and museum. There were a lot of stairs to get on top but it was worth it. A beautiful panoramic view of the city of Florence and a great view of the mountains. The Dome and this tower offers the same view.

It's a bit of a hike but it's easier to climb than the dome. Staircases are very narrow and it's two-way traffic. There's 3 floors where you can catch your breath. The view is amazing and you can visit the Campanile without adhering to time slots, and you can stay as long as you like.

When visiting the cathedral, go on the tour 100%, but when you are done, even if you are tired wait in the line for the tower. Some of the best views of the city. Of course, if you have an extra day in Florence you could always come back... But unlikely unless you are staying very close by (there are truly so many wonderful sights to see in Florence).
