Built onto a giant offshore rock, Tanah Lot Temple remains one of the more venerated Hindu structures with strong ties to Balinese mythology. One of seven significant sea temples spread across Bali's coastline, this shrine is allegedly the work of Dan Hyang Nirartha, a 16th-century religious figure and traveler who founded the island's Shaivite priesthood. Though you can walk to the rock during low tide, keep in mind that non-Balinese visitors cannot enter the temple itself. The site--one of the most photographed in Bali--draws huge crowds at sunset, when soft light bathes the area and creates a nearly magical atmosphere. Good place for group, but too busy for a family trip. I suggest to everyone not to come to this place in afternoon. But overall we like the place

Amazing and unique place, definitely must visit. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. The entrance fee is 60k + parking 4k. It’s better to take raincoat or umbrella, because it’s usually raining there. There are a lot of souvenir stores there and cafes. Best time to visit is before the sunset, better to come earlier to see the place (2 hours is enough) and then meet the sunset in the cafe right on the cliff.

Good temple although a bit far from everywhere. The sunset is the best albeit very crowded. The market before the temple is interesting and presents good opportunity to buy souvenirs. Pro Tip At night there is difficulty in finding a taxi so if you plan to stay till sunset and after, do keep the cab till return as the place is quite far off
