Beautiful Commonwealth War Graves Cemetery, situated in a field about 1km from the Thiepval Memorial. Unusually, many of the headstones in the cemetery lie flat. The cemetery was began in the spring of 1917, but includes many casualties of the 1916 Battles of the Somme. Over 1,300 men are buried here. Directly opposite on the other side of the road is Connaught Cemetery. The Ulster Tower Memorial to the 36th (Ulster) Division is only about 100 metres away.
