Visit the largest Hindu temples in the Southern Hemisphere at Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple. The temple features traditional Dravidian architecture painted in colors bright enough to make your eyes ache. Look for wooden carvings of Hindu deities sent from India and intricate ceiling frescoes. Check ahead of time for festivals occurring during your visit, like Karthingai Puja held monthly when visitors make offerings and receive blessings. Remember to wear modest clothing and remove your shoes at the entrance. Photos are not permitted inside the temple. • Wonderful experience getting to see and learn a little about the temple and the religion and what goes into the upkeep of keeping the temple vibrant and so beautiful.

  • A very simple temple with colorful painted walls, ceilings and structures. What you think are carved woodwork from far away are just painted line work. Make sure to be covered up and go early in the morning so your feet aren't on the hot ground barefoot.
  • Great and clean temple. Plus point is that they have a little Prasad shop in case you forget anything and even give you sarongs in case you not dressed appropriately. They have recently opened a vegetarian restaurant as well.
