Nielsen Park
Nestled within Sydney Harbour National Park, Nielsen Park offers grassy expanses, the turquoise waters of Shark Beach, and the historic 1851 residence Greycliffe House. William Wentworth used to own the 206 hectare (509 acre) area, and you can swim in a netted-off area where the poet himself swam. Today the park is a popular recreational spot, with waves swelling for prime surfing after storms roll through. Stroll along the roads lined with she-oaks to see the Federation kiosk that dates from 1914. The onsite Surf Club makes a fine choice for dinner, but call ahead to make sure it isn't reserved for an event. A visit to Nielsen Park represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Sydney trip itinerary planning tool to plot your vacation.

Nice place to visit. But recommend not to visit during long holidays, as only road side parking is available, quite difficult to drive through and bit hard to get a spot. Since it is a small place, it was fully crowded, so better to plan out of long leaves. Toilet and park was neat and clean.

This park is right in front of the beach and it has a stunning tree tunnel but, as weird as it sounds, the best thing they have is the public toilets: the best public toilets I have ever seen on a beach side!!! So clean, bright, new, stylish: with soap and mirrors and good toilet paper. I could hear ladies walking in whispering "wow" (so I was clearly not the only one amazed by it). Definitely a great spot for sunbathing and a swim... And a shower!
