Create an itinerary including Hyde Park
Visit the oldest public park in Australia, Hyde Park. From the very early days of the colony, the open area was a top spot for sports such a cricket, rugby, and even organized bare-knuckle fights. Today, it remains an ideal spot for a morning jog or a stroll among fig-lined avenues in the park. The gardens are well-kept and home to approximately 580 trees. There are many monuments to stop and see, such as the Archibald Fountain, the ANZAC War Memorial, an obelisk with Egyptian features, and a monument to Captain James Cook. You can do what the locals like to do, grab a latte, people watch, or read a book on the grass. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to Hyde Park and many more Sydney attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's Sydney day trip website.

  • Top marks for its simplicity and location. Simplicity in that although it’s not a better walk or scenery than the Royal Botanical Gardens, it provides a great spot for people to relax for office...

  • A great example of modern age with the abundance of beautiful past blended together in the form of Hyde park. A place to wait, rest , eat and escape Truly an oasis in the middle of the city chaos This is the place to visit and learn about the history of this brave country through Anzac memorial This is the place to gather laughs and walks through bicentennial park with beautiful flowers and native animals and birds This is the place to escape and be found in the memories of the past through amazing architectural building and it's stories around Doesn't matter if you come along or come alone, Hyde park will always be there to keep you entertained through it's amazing charm.
  • Beautiful old established park. It is a scenic thoroughfare, with awe inspiring fig trees. The famous Archibald fountain in the middle is always worth a look, even after seeing it so many times before. There is also a war memorial building within the park which houses a small museum. Quite a few people frequent Hyde Park , yet it maintains a perfectly tranquil feel.
