Create an itinerary including Flinders Street Station
Arguably the defining landmark of Melbourne, Flinders Street Station is a colonial-era railway station at the junction of Flinders and Swanston Streets. The main entrance is known for several clocks hanging over it and is a popular meeting spot. "Meet you under the clocks" is an oft-repeated local phrase. This was the first railway station in an Australian city and the world's busiest passenger station in the late 1920s. Today, the building is a cultural icon, with its prominent dome, arched entrance, and the recognizable clocks. You can easily access this historic landmark, which is responsible for two of Melbourne's busiest pedestrian crossings, from almost anywhere in the city by car or subway. Flinders Street Station is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our , international travel planner Edition.

  • The building is old (in a European style) and looks very nice, interesting to see if you are passing by.

  • Nothing says "Melbourne" more than Flinders St Station. For generations, lovers have met "under the clocks" at Flinders St.. The station dates from 1854, it's almost as old as the state of Victoria...

  • The Flinders Street Station is one of Melbourne's most iconic landmarks. Tourists and Melburnians alike have stood beneath the clocks of Melbourne's iconic central railway station for generations. The station is located in the center of Melbourne, next to the Yarra River. The station was last renovated a few years ago. From here, you can reach most places in Melbourne by public transportation. There are trains running throughout Melbourne. Just outside the station there are also multiple trams that pass by regularly. There are toilet facilities at the station as well. St Paul's Cathedral provides a good view of the station.
  • Nice and clean place. Stand beneath the clocks of Melbourne's iconic railway station, as tourists and Melburnians have done for generations. Take a train for outer-Melbourne explorations, join a tour to learn more about the history of the grand building, or go underneath the station to see the changing exhibitions that line Campbell Arcade.
