Henry Kendall Cottage & Historical Museum, Gosford

A part of the cottage is under renovation. The cottage was the residence of the Australian poet, Henry Kendall…. and the bedroom, kitchen, laundry room etc are on display…. giving an idea of accommodation conditions of those years. Besides, the cottage has interesting relics from World War 1 and the past century….. old music systems including wax records (which played music), vinyl records, old gramophone, old huge radio, typewriters, mechanical calculating machines, mechanical reproduction equipment, cameras, sewing machines, clocks, kettles etc. The collection is displayed well with information about each artefact next to it. Entry ticket for an adult is $5, for students and groups it is much less, and the money thus raised goes towards the upkeep of the cottage and it’s grounds. We were a group of 4 last Sunday and the volunteer Mr Don made our tour of the cottage very interesting. He did an excellent job of enlightening us about many of the things in the artefacts museum, and the industrial section which houses various tools, axes, citrus sorters, ploughs etc. We could sense the passion he has for his voluntary work. The detailed information he gave tirelessly including about the blacksmith equipment was amazing.

Needs a bit of updating and clean up. But instruments, including farm implements from an age past. Worth a quick walk through.
