Tjanpi Desert Weavers
Tjanpi Desert Weavers is a not-for-profit Indigenous social enterprise of Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Women's Council. Out of a need for meaningful and appropriate employment, NPY members created Tjanpi to enable women on the lands to earn a regular income from selling their fibre art. Tjanpi (meaning ‘grass’) supports the production and marketing of baskets, sculptures and seed jewellery made by over 400 artists from 28 remote communities across three states - WA, NT and SA.Arrange your visit to Tjanpi Desert Weavers and discover more family-friendly attractions in Alice Springs using our Alice Springs trip itinerary planning website.

Worth a look to see a different style of indigenous craft on display. Wasn't sure if the prices were reasonable - didn't have much to compare with as it is quite unique. Bit hard to find.

Visited the Weavers with a group of friends. The fabric conscious people were most impressed. The vivid colours were most attractive.

Amazing genuine works. A must visit with plenty to consider and even purchase. Your purchases contribute to indigenous women’s welfare.
