Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve
Alice Springs Telegraph Station Historical Reserve offers a glimpse of the town’s European beginnings. Established in 1872, the telegraph station relayed messages between Darwin and Adelaide for 60 year. The restored yard houses telegraph equipment from the 19th century, wagons, and a blacksmith shop. Walk and bike on trails in the reserve. While a number of short walking trails traverse the hill country, a popular one is the Trig Hill and Cemetery Loop, which returns via the original station cemetery. The shaded lawns make a popular venue for picnics. Plan a trip to Alice Springs easily and quickly by telling Inspirock to suggest an itinerary.

I walked from the town centre to the Telegraph Station along the Riverside walk. It took me about 40-45 minutes. The walk is well marked and you should not get lost. I did the 9:30am guided tour...

You can look at the old telegraph station on station masters house. In one room you can try using Morse code which is really cool. You can't go in every room, but they all have glass to see through. This is a downside considering it is $16 per adult

We did the self guide tour, easy informative signage. The whole area is relatively flat, a few steps. Great coffee shop. We spent an easy 2 hours here.
