Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage, Chingola

#10 of 37 in Parks in Zambia
Visit a chimpanzee sanctuary and get close to the rescued animals at Chimfunshi Wildlife Orphanage. Founded in 1983 when the owner rescued a badly injured infant chimpanzee and nurtured it back to health--establishing a tradition still maintained today--the estate now houses over 120 chimpanzees. The orphanage also serves as a home to baboons, vervet monkeys, and some birds. Watch the daily routine of caring for the animals with feeding and maintaining the habitats serving as important parts of the process.
