Phong Nha Caves
A collection of 300 caves and grottos within a World Heritage-listed national park, Phong Nha Caves boast the largest cave in the world. Access the site by boat along the Son River, wending through steep limestone cliffs covered with lush vegetation. The caves feature intricate stalagmite formations suspended like giant octopuses from the ceiling. Explore strange shapes formed over millions of years as your boat glides along some 1.2 km (0.75 mi) deep in the cave. The caves make up part of the oldest karst mountain in Asia. Using our custom trip planner, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park attractions like Phong Nha Caves can form part of a personalized travel itinerary.

We booked a boat to the caves at the Tourist Center with several tourists waiting there. With about 360000 dong per boat, it became considerably cheaper than for two. The cave itself was very interesting to see, but of course it is relatively much visited, so it is best to be available as early as possible at the tourist information! It opens at 07:00.View original -
Don't expect to see nothing special in the caves they are just typical caves. But the worst part of this tour was the lunch since me and my friend had stomach problems with one of the soups in the res... more »

Lovely experience! Don’t make the same mistake we did, we drove our motorbike to the cave and then realised when we got there we had to get our ticket from the town centre! Go to the tourist information centre in town (by the market) and buy yourself the ticket and then wait for enough people to fill up a boat and buy the boat ticket. It’s a long, relaxing boat ride to the cave and then you get to slowly go through the cave in the boat and then you walk the last part. Really beautiful cave and lovely to see it this way.

Great experience. Get a boat in Phong Nha, it’s 400,000 VND but if you wait in the ticket office to gather a group of up to 12 people you can split the cost and gets much cheaper. You can visit 2 caves and it takes around 3 or 4 hours o complete the whole visit
