Registan, Samarkand

4.7
In the heart of the ancient city lies Registan, a World Heritage-listed public square known for its distinctive Islamic architecture. Enveloped by grand madrassahs on three sides, the plaza has also hosted major social events through the ages. Examine the elaborate facade and unique decor of each school as you explore the restored square and all the traditionally built structures surrounding. Purchase an all-day ticket to enter the madrassahs, and tip the guards to climb the minarets for a panoramic view of the square. With our online itinerary creator, Samarkand attractions like Registan can be center stage of your vacation plans, and you can find out about other attractions like it, unlike it, near it, and miles away.

  • For the entrance to the bazaar with ancient interiors from two citizens of Russia take as well as other foreigners 80,000 Uzbek sum, and for local entrance costs 2000-3000 soums. Registan where in every corner noise and traders is not worth this money. Therefore, if someone wants to visit this place, I advise near Till Curry madrassa to climb a meter fence.

  • Now that the restoration work was in place, preparations for the music concert in August have begun, and I was not able to see what I imagined. Still, when I saw the Blue dome for the first time, the condition was so bad that I was blown away. The night was light up and beautiful. In the morning, before the opening, there is a police officer requesting a bribe, so I'll let you climb to the top in USD10, so you need to be careful. It might depend on the person whether it is high or cheap when thinking about the admission fee. I was quite insistent, where I declined. After all, I gave up, but it is a wonderful place as a World heritage site, but the abuse of authority that is calm is sad.

  • The most iconic architectural structure of Central Asia. A must see in Uzbekistan and central Asia. The outside is really marvelous, huge and impressive. The inside is also spectacular with different kinds of colourful walls. Entrance fees for foreigners is 40000 UZS and for locals only 3000 UZS. Must visit. Highly recommended.
  • This is THE spot to see during any visit to Uzbekistan. The history and the architecture are simply mesmerizing. This is truly a postcard location. Allow at least a couple of hours to enjoy the entirety of this beautiful place.
