Founded as a military outpost in 1826, Albany is the oldest town in Western Australia, just barely gaining this title by being settled two years earlier than Fremantle and Perth.
Start off your visit on the 8th (Tue): take a tour by water with Boat Tours & Water Sports, kick back and relax at Emu Point, and then stroll through Middleton Beach. On your second day here, kick back and relax at Little Beach, contemplate the long history of Princess Royal Fortress, then steep yourself in history at The Albany Convict Gaol & Museum, and finally pause for some photo ops at Desert Mounted Corps Memorial.

Brisbane to Albany is an approximately 15.5-hour combination of flight, train, and bus. You can also drive; or do a combination of bus and train. Due to the time zone difference, you'll gain 2 hours traveling from Brisbane to Albany. Plan for a bit cooler temperatures traveling from Brisbane in September, with highs in Albany at 21°C and lows at 9°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 9th (Wed) to allow time to drive to Margaret River.

A low-rise, laid-back town of approximately 4,500 inhabitants, Margaret River serves as an ideal local base to explore the surrounding wine region.
Take a break from the city and head to Canal Rocks and Meelup Beach. We've included these beaches for you: Yallingup Beach and Margaret River Mouth Beach. There's lots more to do: look for all kinds of wild species at Eagles Heritage Wildlife Centre, cruise along Caves Road, learn about winemaking at Redgate Wines, and view the masterpieces at Vasse Felix Winery.

Broome

A relaxed town of tree-shaded streets and scenic coastal stretches, Broome gained renown as a center of the pearling industry in the late 19th century.
Kick off your visit on the 14th (Mon): get a new perspective on things with Boat Tours & Water Sports, then kick back and relax at Roebuck Bay, and then see the world from above with a helicopter tour. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 15th (Tue): explore the galleries of The Courthouse Collection, then examine the collection at SSJG Heritage Centre Broome, and then get outside with Staircase To The Moon.
