Protected from the Atlantic by sand spits and barrier islands, Lagos quickly grew into a mega city due to its location, and currently operates one of the continent's largest and busiest ports.

And it doesn't end there: hunt for treasures at Lekki Market, enjoy the sand and surf at Elegushi Beach, identify plant and animal life at Lekki Conservation Centre, and head outdoors with Tarkwa Bay Beach.

For reviews, more things to do, and more tourist information, refer to the Lagos road trip app.

The Route module shows you all the different ways you can get to Lagos. In February, daily temperatures in Lagos can reach 39°C, while at night they dip to 29°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Mon) so you can drive to Abeokuta.
