Stresa is a town and comune of about 5,000 residents on the shores of Lake Maggiore in the province of Verbano-Cusio-Ossola in the Piedmont region of northern Italy, about 90km northwest of Milan. Take a break from the city and head to Lake Orta and San Giulio Island. Head to Palazzo Borromeo and Stresa Museum Storefor some retail therapy. Change things up with these side-trips from Stresa: Il ponte romano di Pont-Saint-Martin (in Pont-Saint-Martin), Castello di Fenis (in Fenis) and Lillaz Waterfalls (in Cogne). The adventure continues: steep yourself in history at Isola Bella, admire the striking features of i Giardini di Villa Melzi, admire the sheer force of Cascata del Toce, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Chiesa del SS. Crocifisso.

Use Inspirock's suggestions to plan your Stresa trip and find the best activities and attractions for your vacation.

If you are flying in from United Kingdom, the closest major airports are Malpensa International Airport, Milano Linate Airport and Il Caravaggio International Airport. In August, daytime highs in Stresa are 33°C, while nighttime lows are 19°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 10th (Sat) so you can travel back home.
