Jewel of the Mediterranean

Barcelona, the country’s second-largest city, is a cosmopolitan urban center known for its throbbing youthful energy and stellar architecture.
Get out of town with these interesting Barcelona side-trips: Sant Feliu de Guixols (Museu d'Historia & Museu d'Historia de la Joguina), Pals (Torre Den Quart & Village Medieval de Pals) and Torroella de Montgri (Museu de la Mediterrania, Fundacio Mascort, &more). Spend the 1st (Thu) floating through the air with a balloon tour. Spend the 3rd (Sat) wandering through the wild on a nature and wildlife tour. There's still lots to do: pause for some serene contemplation at Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, admire the striking features of Casa Batllo, admire the local landmark of The Magic Fountain, and stop by El Barri Gòtic.
