The capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil occupies perhaps the longest-inhabited land in the world, with the earliest human settlement here possibly dating back to 5000 BCE.

Sitting on flat land between two chains of scenic mountains and close to the Tigris River, Duhok has experienced a growth in tourism in recent years.
Explore Duhok's surroundings by going to Zakho Bridge. (in Zakho) and Rabban Hormizd Monastery (in Al Qush). There's lots more to do: browse the different shops at Mazi Plus Mall, meet the residents at Duhok Zoo, walk around Azadi Park, and pause for some photo ops at Azadi Panorama.
