Cesis

Cēsis, is a town in Latvia located in the northern part of the Central Vidzeme Upland. Cesis Medieval Castle and Ungurmuiza Manor are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Visit St. John’s Church and Old Sigulda Castle for their historical value. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Cesis: Sigulda (Turaida Castle & Velnalas klintis un Velna ala), Munchausen’s World Museum (in Dunte) and Saulkrasti Beach (in Saulkrasti). Spend the 31st (Wed) exploring nature at Gauja National Park. There's still lots to do: step into the grandiose world of Stameriena Castle, don't miss a visit to Odzienas Manor, contemplate the long history of Old Brewery, and do a tasting at Ligatne Winery.

Daugavpils

Daugavpils is a city in southeastern Latvia, located on the banks of the Daugava River, from which the city gets its name. You'll explore and learn at Daugavpils Mark Rothko Art Centre and Latgale Culture and History Museum. Do some cultural sightseeing at Daugavpils Fortress and Luznavas Muiza. Get out of town with these interesting Daugavpils side-trips: Pilskalnes Siguldina (in Ilukste), Preili Museum of Dolls (in Preili) and Aglona (Aglona Basilica & The King's Hill of Christ). Liepāja, is a city in western Latvia, located on the Baltic Sea directly at 21°E. Step off the beaten path and head to Karosta Prison and St. Nicholas Orthodox Sea Cathedral.
