Nestled on the banks of the Perfume River, the city of Hue remains most famous as the former home of the Nguyen Dynasty, the influence of which remains evident in local palaces, temples, forts, and museums.
Do your shopping at Dong Ha Market and Big C Market. Eschew the tourist crowds and head to Royal Tombs and Food Tours. Step out of Hue to go to Dong Ha and see Vinh Moc Tunnel, which is approximately 2 hours away. Next up on the itinerary: take in the spiritual surroundings of Imperial Tomb of Dong Khanh, surround yourself with nature on a nature and wildlife tour, witness the site of a historic battle at Demilitarized Zone, and steep yourself in history at Tomb of Thieu Tri.
