Sitting on flat land between two chains of scenic mountains and close to the Tigris River, Duhok has experienced a growth in tourism in recent years.
You'll discover tucked-away gems like Lalish and Rabban Hormizd Monastery. Change things up with a short trip to Zakho Bridge. in Zakho (about 46 minutes away). Kufa is a city in Iraq, about 170km south of Baghdad, and 10km northeast of Najaf. Kick off your visit on the 20th (Sat): get engrossed in the history at House of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb, take in the spiritual surroundings of Al Sahlah Great Mosque, and then don't miss a visit to Great Mosque of Kufa.
