Pigeon Forge

A tiny town with big tourist appeal, Pigeon Forge bills itself as the "Center of Fun in the Smokies." Just a short drive from the national park protecting the diverse plant and animal life of the Great Smoky Mountains, the town features numerous places to visit, such as bars, restaurants, cafes, theaters, and shops.
Escape the urban bustle at Roaring Fork and River Rafting & Tubing. Explore hidden gems such as Wheels Through Time Transportation Museum and Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail. Get out of town with these interesting Pigeon Forge side-trips: Great Smoky Mountains National Park (Cades Cove & Clingmans Dome). Generally considered to be the oldest town established by European Americans in the Black Hills, Custer began as a mining town.
Kids will enjoy Big Thunder Gold Mine and Jewel Cave National Monument. Step out of the city life by going to Presidential Trail and Needles Eye Tunnel. Go for a jaunt from Custer to Hot Springs to see Mammoth Site of Hot Springs about 42 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: take a memorable drive along Iron Mountain Road, admire the majestic nature at Custer State Park, contemplate the waterfront views at Sylvan Lake, and explore and take pictures at Wildlife Loop Road.
