Considered one of the most cosmopolitan and westernized cities in Iraq, vibrant Sulaymaniyah boasts a strong cultural scene with a good selection of museums and educational institutions.
On the 8th (Sat), buy something for everyone on your list at City Star Mall, then take an in-depth tour of Slemani Museum, then see the interesting displays at Amnasuraka Museum, and finally have fun at Chavi Land. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the next day: look for gifts at Rand Gallery and then walk around Sarchnar Park.

New Delhi, India to Sulaymaniyah is an approximately 15-hour flight. The time zone changes from India Standard Time to Arabia Standard Time, which is usually a -2 hour difference. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 9th (Sun) so you can go by car to Erbil.

The capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil occupies perhaps the longest-inhabited land in the world, with the earliest human settlement here possibly dating back to 5000 BCE.
Erbil is known for historic sites, parks, shopping, nature, and museums. Your plan includes some of its best attractions: stroll around Sami Abdulrahman Park, take in the spiritual surroundings of Jalil Khayat and his Children's Mosque, browse the different shops at Family Mall, and examine the collection at Kurdish Textile Museum.

Sitting on flat land between two chains of scenic mountains and close to the Tigris River, Duhok has experienced a growth in tourism in recent years.
Kick off your visit on the 13th (Thu): take your sightseeing to a higher altitude at Zawa Mountain, then stroll around Azadi Park, and then take in the views from Zakho Bridge.. On the 14th (Fri), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: take in the spiritual surroundings of Rabban Hormizd Monastery, then appreciate the history behind Azadi Panorama, then browse the different shops at Mazi Plus Mall, and finally walk around Zari Park.

It's quite possible that a Baghdad holiday isn't on your list of things to do, but despite the city's reputation for turmoil, it still has plenty to offer to a daring traveler.
Pack the 16th (Sun) with family-friendly diversions at Zawraa Park. There's much more to do: examine the collection at The Iraq Museum, appreciate the history behind Al-Mutanabbi Statue, make a trip to Al-Shaheed Monument, and pause for some serene contemplation at Armenian Orthodox Church - St Gregory The Illuminator.

You can do a combination of car and flight from Duhok to Baghdad in 4 hours. Another option is to drive. In June, plan for daily highs up to 48°C, and evening lows to 30°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Mon) early enough to travel to Kufa.

Kufa is a city in Iraq, about 170km south of Baghdad, and 10km northeast of Najaf. Start off your visit on the 18th (Tue): contemplate the long history of Al Sahlah Great Mosque, then steep yourself in history at Shrine Amir al-mo'menin Ali bin Abi Talib peace be upon him, and then stroll the grounds of Wadi Al-Salaam Cemetery. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 19th (Wed): take in the spiritual surroundings of Masjid Hannana, then don't miss a visit to Maytham al-Tammar Shrine, then get engrossed in the history at House of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Taleb, and finally make a trip to Great Mosque of Kufa.

Karbala is a city in central Iraq, located about 100km southwest of Baghdad, and a few miles east of Lake Milh. Go for a jaunt from Karbala to Al Hillah to see Babylon about 1h 10 min away. Getting from Kufa to Karbala by car takes about 1.5 hours. Traveling from Kufa in June, plan for little chillier nights in Karbala, with lows around 29°C. On the 22nd (Sat), you'll travel to Nasiriyah.
