Step back in time as you explore the ancient UNESCO World Heritage city of Yazd, a desert town known for its distinct Persian architecture style, punctuated by mud-brick buildings, wind towers, domed ice houses, and water reservoirs.
Step off the beaten path and head to Narein Castle and Sar Yazd Castle. Kharanagh and Zorastrian Towers of Silence will appeal to history buffs. Change things up with a short trip to Meybod's Shah Abbasi Caravanserai in Meybod (about 50 minutes away). There's still lots to do: appreciate the extensive heritage of Old City, admire the masterpieces at Museum of Zoroastrians History and Culture, examine the collection at Water Museum, and contemplate in the serene atmosphere at Zoroastrian Fire Temple.
