Get some historical perspective at Babylon and Al Yassin Mosque. Head to Al Mansur Mall and Maximallfor some retail therapy. Pack the 29th (Wed) with family-friendly diversions at Zawraa Park. And it doesn't end there: see the interesting displays at Iraqi Museum, pause for some photo ops at Al-Mutanabbi Statue, make a trip to Baghdadi Museum, and admire the striking features of Bunnia Mosque.

Kufa is a city in Iraq, about 170km south of Baghdad, and 10km northeast of Najaf. Kick off your visit on the 2nd (Sun): explore the different monuments and memorials at Wadi Al-Salaam Cemetery, steep yourself in history at Shrine Amir al-mo'menin Ali bin Abi Talib peace be upon him, and then take in the spiritual surroundings of Al Sahlah Great Mosque.

Getting from Karbala to Kufa by car takes about 1.5 hours. Traveling from Karbala in June, plan for somewhat warmer nights in Kufa, with lows around 33°C. Cap off your sightseeing on the 2nd (Sun) early enough to travel to Erbil.

The capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil occupies perhaps the longest-inhabited land in the world, with the earliest human settlement here possibly dating back to 5000 BCE.
Get in touch with nature at The Korek Mountain Resort & Spa and Gali Ali Bag. Erbil Citadel and Sami Abdulrahman Park are good opportunities to explore the local culture. There's lots more to do: examine the collection at Kurdish Textile Museum, browse the different shops at Majidi Mall, stroll around Shanadar Park, and look for gifts at Bazaar.

You can fly from Kufa to Erbil in 3 hours. Another option is to drive. Traveling from Kufa in June, expect Erbil to be slightly colder, temps between 45°C and 27°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 6th (Thu) early enough to drive to Sulaymaniyah.
