One of the oldest trading centers in Nigeria, Calabar has retained a great number of colonial buildings, especially in the older parts of the city.
On the 21st (Tue), examine the collection at Slave History Museum and then stop by Tinapa.

Shop till you drop at Abuja Arts & Crafts Village and Nike Art Gallery. And it doesn't end there: buy something for everyone on your list at Jabi Lake Mall, see human ingenuity at work at Usuma Dam, take in the architecture and atmosphere at All Saints Anglican Church, and sample the tasty concoctions at Bature Brewery.

Do a combination of flight and taxi from Calabar to Abuja in 2 hours. Alternatively, you can do a combination of taxi and flight; or drive. Protected from the Atlantic by sand spits and barrier islands, Lagos quickly grew into a mega city due to its location, and currently operates one of the continent's largest and busiest ports.
You'll get in some beach time at Elegushi Beach and Tarkwa Bay Beach. Give yourself a bit of retail therapy at Lekki Market and Ikeja City Mall. Step out of Lagos to go to Lekki and see The Henna Place, which is approximately 38 minutes away. There's still lots to do: identify plant and animal life at Lekki Conservation Centre, steep yourself in history at Freedom Park, pause for some serene contemplation at The Cathedral Church of Christ, and make a trip to The Eyo of Eko Statue.

Traveling by car from Abeokuta to Lagos takes 1.5 hours. In January, plan for daily highs up to 39°C, and evening lows to 28°C. Finish up your sightseeing early on the 31st (Fri) so you can travel back home.
