The capital of Iraqi Kurdistan, Erbil occupies perhaps the longest-inhabited land in the world, with the earliest human settlement here possibly dating back to 5000 BCE.
On the 2nd (Sat), stroll around Sami Abdulrahman Park, then steep yourself in history at Erbil Citadel, and then buy something for everyone on your list at Family Mall. Get ready for a full day of sightseeing on the 3rd (Sun): stop by Bazaar, then walk around Shanadar Park, and then examine the collection at Kurdish Textile Museum.
