On the 19th (Fri), admire the masterpieces at State Tretyakov Gallery, then take in the architecture and atmosphere at St. Basil's Cathedral, then make a trip to Red Square (Krasnaya Ploshchad), and finally stop by Yeliseyevskiy.

Built on a desolate swamp as a showcase capital of Imperial Russia, this grand city has certainly lived up to the expectations of its founder, Tsar Peter the Great.
Kick off your visit on the 20th (Sat): get a taste of the local shopping with Photogallery Rachmaninov Garden and then explore the world behind art at The State Hermitage Museum. On the 21st (Sun), you'll have a packed day of sightseeing: examine the collection at MARS Center, see the interesting displays at Saint Isaac's Cathedral, then pause for some serene contemplation at Savior on the Spilled Blood, then look for gifts at Magazin Kuptsov Yeliseyevykh, and finally wander the streets of Nevsky Prospekt.
