Spend a day in the company of elephants at Thai Elephant Home. Don traditional northern Thai clothing, pay your respects to Ganesha--the elephant god--then ride an elephant along scenic jungle trails in the Mae Taeng Mountains. Along the way you will enjoy lunch, traditionally wrapped in a banana leaf to carry, take a dip (with your elephant) in the Black Mud Spa, then ride the elephant to the river to bathe it. Back at the elephant home you can also feed, bathe, and play with baby elephants. If one day isn't enough with these majestic animals, you can choose from a number of extended-stay and volunteer programs for a more comprehensive experience. Make Thai Elephant Home a centerpiece of your Mae Taeng vacation itinerary, and find what else is worth visiting using our Mae Taeng trip planner .

One of our daughters was insanely afraid of the elephants. With a lot of patience, Joe's staff managed to bring them closer to the animals. Thank you very much for that. In the evening we cooked deliciously and we still had great conversations with "T". On the second day we were in the nursery with 3 dams and 3 kittens. We fed, walked through the jungle and bathed the animals. Thank you Joe and team for the unforgettable days!
Very friendly staff! They give you clothes to change into and lockers. You get to ride the elephants right on their backs and play with them in the river (that was the best part) we had such a fun time with these amazing animals! We also got to feed them bananas and they love them! It was nice to use their showers after and get all cleaned up. For sure would recommend this!
An awesome experience... Great for the kids too! They provided us with clothes to wear. We feed the elephants and then rode them to the river. We bathed them and rose them back. A towel and hot shower was provided and a snack. Very knowledgeable staff, with good English... A great morning...
