See the tallest cathedral in Scandinavia and admire the twin Gothic spires of Uppsala Domkyrka. Situated between Uppsala University and River Fyris, the cathedral stands nearly 122 m (400 ft) tall. You will recognize the 13th-century structure by its rose-hued exterior. Tour the site, originally designed by French architects in the French-Gothic style, and view its impressive features, including its treasury museum and chapels. Though the structure was damaged in a fire in the 18th century, the church today has been completed restored to its former glory.   The cathedral is one of the biggest in Scandinavia. The acoustic in it is great. Especially the luciatåg at the beginning of December is a highlight in this cathedral.  more »

  Really beautiful church with exquisite interiors that is in excellent condition. The paintings on the walls and ceilings are very well done. The carved wooden pulpit is really detailed and beautiful. The stained glass work is bright and amazing. Lots of great sculptures and paintings as well. Best part is admission is free. There is also a treasury that is open to the public but does have a small admission fee. The fabric, jewelry and other artifacts in there are also really beautiful and worth a visit.

  A beautiful building that defines the skyline of the whole city. If you're lost you simply have to spot the cathedral to find your bearings. Shame about the restorative work spoiling the view but it needs to be done to preserve the building for the future.
