On the scenic peninsula Blasieholme sits Nationalmuseum, which was built in the mid-19th century in the North Italian Renaissance style. You can admire the exterior, but the building is closed for renovation until 2017. The national gallery holds the country's premier collection of art and design, including works from the Middle Ages up to the 20th century. Most prominently, the collection boasts significant pieces from Rembrandt and other Dutch painters. To see some of its treasures, visit the temporary exhibit space at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts. Tours to Nationalmuseum
Tog en tur till Nationalmuseum under höstlovet. Vackra lokaler och fina samlingar. Jag tycker att museet skulle tjäna på att ha en guide över de "kändaste" verken. Vi frågade och fick hjälp med detta.... more »Took a trip to Nationalmuseum during the autumn break. Beautiful premises and fine collections. I think the museum would benefit from having a guide to the "most famous" works. We asked and got help with this. We also got an explanation of why you did not have a list-it is because you move around art so often. I think it is possible to do a "top ten" for the moment anyway. I do not live in Stockholm and when I visit Nationalmuseum I want to see the best that the museum has exposed at the moment without looking at every work.
Så fantastiskt att kunna gå runt och njuta av det renoverade vackra Nationalmuseum. Trevlig personal som visade vart man kunde hänga kläder, vart toaletter var och var man kunde fika. more »So amazing to be able to walk around and enjoy the renovated beautiful National Museum. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean.
Huge museum and they have 3 levels. They provide cloakrooms and toilets in underground level. The museum is free. But it's a bit difficult to store our things in the locker provided as we took a lot of time finding which locker is not in use by trying to put the password. BTW it's a good museum
Nicely renovated. They created a great timeline ranging from the top to the bottom, very well structured and not too much to see. Also FREE to enter! The way national treasures should be.
