Shell Beach, Gustavia

#1 of 47 in Things to do in St. Barthelemy
Nature / Park · Beach
In close proximity to the harbor, Shell Beach distinguishes itself with millions of seashells that cover its sand. Overlooked by an old fort, the small lagoon offers a nice spot for swimming, relaxing, and, of course, collecting colorful shells and seaglass. Hang out and have a tasty meal at the popular bar and restaurant on site; sunbathe; or try snorkeling in the crystal clear water. Don't forget to bring sandals or flip-flops, as the shells can be uncomfortable to walk on. Make Shell Beach part of your personalized Gustavia itinerary using our Gustavia trip planner.

  • Nice beach with a good restaurant to grab a bite to eat and drink (Shellona). The beach is rather small thought. That said still unique with all the shells.  more »

  • Beautiful beach. It's a most.
  • Beautiful beach! The name of the beach is coming from the fact that the ground is not sand or rocks but broken shell everywhere! No worries though, it doesn't hurt your feet ;) There is a bar onsite. Follow the sign "Plage des grand galets"
