Museo Can Framis de Barcelona
Can Framis is the latest Fundació Vila Casas museum, an art center devoted to the promotion of contemporary Catalan painting. Located in the old Can Framis factory complex, the museum displays more than 250 paintings from the sixties to the present made by artists born or currently living in Catalonia. In addition to the permanent collection which is divided in three floors, Can Framis Museum has an area dedicated to temporary exhibitions named Espai Aø. The permanent collection is updated periodically, and two new temporary exhibitions are opened every three months.Put Museo Can Framis de Barcelona on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Barcelona trip planner.

Cool venir with even cooler obscure artists

Excellent modern art collection! Catalan and Spanish painting from 20th and 21st century, a private collection and a skillful selection of the exposed works. Very different styles are presented, collection is not imposing or favoring certain approach discriminating others, but one can fully enjoy pluralism and diversity of contemporary art. Endless freedom of creation and interpretation of the art based on personal sensibility are the greatest values of contemporary art, which separate it from the previous centuries, which were based more on restrictions and rules. Organization and design of the exposition and relationship between artworks is equally good. Personally, I enjoy this collection, much more then official modern art museum in Barcelona. Architecturally it´s a contextual re-conversion of the old textile factory and valuable public space designed by BAAS. Fundaciò Vila Casas has two more museums in Costa Brava (sculpture and photography) equally valuable and all three are wonderful gift wealthy family with artistic sensibility could give to the people.
