Located in the bustling city center and considered one of architect Antoni Gaudí’s signature works, Casa Batllo can perhaps best be described as a combination of Modernist and Art Nouveau architecture. Gaudí’s design goal seems to have been to avoid straight lines—completely. Much of the facade is decorated with mosaics made of broken ceramic tiles, ranging in shades from golden orange to greenish blue. The roof is arched and often described as resembling the back of a dragon or dinosaur, so it’s not surprising that most locals call the building "House of Bones." Originally built for a middle-class urban family, this is one of two Gaudí houses available for touring. Skip the lines by booking your tickets online. The building itself is so incredibly beautiful and that alone should be seen. There is a museum inside and I would recommend arriving early because it can get crowded really fast. more »

This place is a essence of Gaudi's genius. Words like beautiful and inspired don't come close to describing the experience. Must see for everyone visiting Barcelona! more »

Beautiful historical landmark in heart of Barcelona. For this instance you can expect big crowds in front of it most of the time. It's advantageous to visit this place either very early or late. However, of you'd like to enter then you should stick to opening hours. Really pretty and unique both from outside and inside. It's a piece of art that I would recommend to visit for every tourist in Barcelona.

One of the most incredible places I've been to. The whole house is a piece of art. It has been a long time goal for me to see live the wonderful and out of this world piece of architecture. Light, shades, colour, shapes - everything in a stunning wholeness. It was so moving to see and feel such beauty. One can rent an audio guide as well.
