A designated national historical landmark, Casa Gorordo Museum details 19th-century life in Cebu City. See the residence of the once-influential Gorordo family, which counts among its members the first bishop of the Cebuano people. Learn about the life of the locals under the Spanish from the various exhibits organized chronologically. The most famous display here remains the figurines that depict the life of Jesus, dating back to the 19th century. Casa Gorordo Museum is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Cebu City Edition.

This museum has very knowledgeable tour guides. I will definitely recommend this to schools and if possible, tell other institutions to include this museum in their itinerary when they have an educational tour. The tour guide, Rave ( ask for him if you go there ) was kind and ready to answer any question that we had for him. The house was able to tell a lot of stories of the Mestizos and the Filipino culture as influenced by the Spaniards, and even by the Chinese and Japanese with their Porcelain Chinaware with Geisha designs. We didn't get to visit the souvenir shop and cafe since it was already closed when we finished our tour so we are definitely going back there to try their frappe!
