Baclayon Church, Bohol Island

Historic Site · Tourist Spot
The second oldest church in the Philippines, Baclayon Church was founded in 1596 and is a National Historical Landmark. Though it was established in the 16th century, the current stone structure as you see it today was not completed until 1727. Unfortunately, a 2013 earthquake caused a lot of damage to the site. However, it is still standing and holds many significant religious relics. It is also known for its striking 19th-century Baroque and Neoclassical pulpit.
