  • Very nice experience. Solarte has accompanied us from Panama City, he speaks a little English and many Spanish... Everything was very well planned. Day 2 departure very early for La Chunga from La Palma in pirogue, solarte us goodbye... Arrival 3 h later at La Chunga greeted by Rutilio, smiling with the lips in the middle of nowhere. The village is 400m. Flowered, calm. The Emberas are a discreet, respectful and smiling people. Rutilio and his family are extraordinarily generous. Brelinda his wife cooks wonderfully well. Belinda her daughter played with our children (17, 13 and 10 years old) from the beginning to the end of the stay with a little tear at the start! Football, swimming, UNO, rounds, cache... Beautiful box on stilts without walls in direct contact with nature. Good mattresses, sheets, pillows, mosquito nets, perfect. Magnificent hikes in the forest, the biodiversity trail starts there. Waterfalls, monkeys, birds, snakes, mygales, squirrels, fish, Morphos, crabs, and vegetation, everything is beautiful. Rutilio loves to convey his way of life, his culture. Visit of the plantations, harvesting of rice, fishing, butterfly hunting, medicinal plants, visit of the village and participation in villages activities. It is a total immersion in the Embera culture, a profound change of scenery. We'll come back! We stayed there for four days. Top! The children had a blast in the river behind the House with the other children. It rains a lot in October, plan clothes that dry fast... Pellets to disinfect water, a frontal, anti mosquito, are essential and you can predict too much, it will delight Rutilio and his family if you want to leave gifts, hooks, beads, frying oil, also please. Also take anti-aoutats, it eats serious in the forest!! There is running water with toilets and a shower (but washing in the river is so nice), solar panels and a battery for light in the evening. But no shops on the spot, nor any current, to good hearing Hi!

  • 4-Day Tour (4 nights) by the rivers SAMBU and VENADO, with the agency ' Tripdarienpanama '. Perfect!. Culture and Emberá life. Different communities Are visited: La Chunga, Sambu, Puerto Indio, Villa Kerezia (Greece), Boca de Trapo, Boca de Buina (Wina), Borobichi and Churucó. Meals (rice with fresh fish or chicken, fried plantain, local fruits, corn girl, nancé girl) and home life; It sleeps in traditional houses, with basic services or outdoors. Solae Carpio (reference website) and his brother Rutilio ("always working") and his family gave us an unforgettable experience with the Embera indigenous. Ascent by the River Sambú in traditional Cayuco (canoe), with flat keel to facilitate the navigation in those sections with low level of water. Murky Water until the confluence with one of its tributaries, the River Venado. We Take to the right said tributary, with clear and clean waters. We Had to push the canoe on certain occasions, but thanks to our captain Santos and his assistant Miguel We were able to climb the river Venado satisfactorily and managed to reach the last community, Borobichi. Rutilio very attentive and pending of you, always with good humour, explains the trees in the walks through the jungle and the traditions of his people. It Is A tour for adventurers who want to enjoy a cultural experience outside of normal tourism. You can Also spend a night in La Chunga, which is the first community to be found on the river Sambú and with an Eco-Lodge already prepared. Enrique y Fede
