    This was damaged and seems to be almost fully opened. Walked up to the waterfall and you can see all the damage from the feb 2020 storm with huge trees washed down stream. Beautiful walk with great....  more »

    Having come straight from the Key Summit Walk, we didn't have the fitness or time for another long trek, and just did the short 20 minute hike to the falls. This is one of the best returns you'll get....  more »

    Tough but manageable. Views are definitely worth the hike. We took 4 hours 45 minutes for the return hike, which includes short breaks and an hour enjoying the lake. The hike roughly breaks up into three equal sections in duration. The first has moderate difficulty. The second is tough. And the third is also moderate. Bring enough water! Hiking poles and good shoes recommended. Snack are also a good addition. Can consider swimming at the lake but it is very cold. One negative is that the toilet at the carpark is very smelly. (There’s a toilet at the lake but we didn’t use it.)

    Words and photos can't describe how good this place is on a foggy day. The hike is quite easy with some uphill bits at times. A must do it you're in fjordland!
