A colonial-style landmark with wrought-iron decorations, Maputo Central Train Station remains one of city's most memorable historic structures. The station, featuring pistachio green-colored roofs, was constructed in 1910 and designed by an associate of Alexandre Gustav Eiffel. Inside, you can inspect a small exhibit of works by both local and visiting artists. Afterwards, buy a train ticket to explore the rest of the country.
