Shiraz's most important pilgrimage destination, Shah-e-Cheragh Shrine features tombs of Shi'a brothers Amir Ahmad and Mir Mohammad, killed here during the Sunni Abbasid persecution in 835. Two gilt-top minarets flank the tulip-like tiled dome of this mosque and funerary monument. Inside, numerous mirrors reflect light in all of its elaborately designed rooms. A large pool in the front courtyard features evenly spaced fountains and reflects the impressive entrance door plated with gold, which devotees kiss upon entrance. Apparently, entrance is forbidden to non-Muslims unless you know a local. Use our Shiraz driving holiday app to arrange your visit to Shah-e-Cheragh Shrine and other attractions in Shiraz.
Shah-e-Cheragh Shrine Reviews
Bardziej mi się tu podobało niż w słynnym Różowym Meczecie. Może dlatego, że jako "Niewierny" byłem oprowadzany przez człowieka z obsługi, który mi wszystko opowiedział, pokazał co ważniejsze i piękni... more »I liked it more than in the famous Pink Mosque. Maybe because as "unfaithful" I was guided by a man with a service that told me everything, he showed more importantly and more beautiful places. Well, stained glass here are according to me more beautiful than those in the Pink mosque, but it is a matter of taste
Schön, aber nicht so speziell. Grosser Platz im Innenhof. Als Tourist nur mit Guide möglich zu besuchen, und unsere Guide war SEHR unmotiviert more »Nice, but not so special. Large square in the courtyard. As a tourist only possible to visit with guide, and our guide was VERY unmotivated
A gem of islamic architecture. Do go. As an obvious tourist I was fine to enter as long as I was wearing long sleeves and trousers. You may be lucky enough to allowed into the stunning central shrine (I gather the rules do change on this). Take your shoes off and act muted + respectful to maximise your chances. If that doesn't work then you may well be able to enter with one of the guides that are floating around - I've no idea if there's a charge attached to this
Its so beautiful inside. I do recommend to visit it in Shiraz As the latest news i have recently they let you ho in with their free tour guide but unfortunately they dont bring you to the main part which is the most beautiful part.
