Visit the statues of Lenin, Marx, and Engels at Memento Park, an open-air museum dedicated to influential figures from the country's Communist period. Designed by Hungarian architect Akos Eleod, the park features 42 of the statues that were removed from the city after the fall of Communism. Check out a replica of Stalin's boots, which became a symbol of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956 after the statue of Stalin was pulled down from its pedestal. Although located a distance from city center, the park is easily accessible via shuttle bus or public transportation from the downtown area. It is definitely not cozy and despite the almost negligible price of the ticket (5 euros) you feel that the park is definitely overlooked and little advertised as if you wanted to forget it. Sincerely found it a waste of time and money, it is not recommended.

However it is a place full of history and we decided to visit it on the last day of our trip as we had already seen all the attractions that we had planned in the city. The route can be divided into two parts: 1) from where you stay at Kelenföld Vasútállomás (Metro Verde station) 2) from Kelenföld Vasútállomás to Memento Park. You have to take the green Metro in the direction of "Kelenföld Vasútállomás" going down to the terminus (precisely "Kelenföld Vasútállomás"). Once you get off this path you can take two possible means: (as Sandro suggested to me, the local expert in the Budapest Forum)-Bus 101And direction "Budatétény Vasútállomás (Campona)", going down to "Memento Park" (about 10 minutes)-Saturday and Sunday is NOT circulating. -Bus 150 in the direction of "Budatétény Vasútállomás (Campona)", going down to Memento Park "(about 16 minutes). Take care to get off at the right stop because the spaces are really dilated. The park is quite large and completely outdoors, for this reason it is perhaps the place where in absolute I suffered the most cold in Budapest. At the ticket office there are not very friendly people or open to a smile or advice, in addition to the entrance fee you can buy a small book with all the explanations of the individual statues-is also available in Italian (not always perfectly Understandable) but you have to ask because as said, kindness is not the best. The statues are "visited" following a precise path with a particular meaning (explained in the book)-some have really interesting stories, others are simpler and anonymous busts. Some in particular are really scenic. Personally to better appreciate the park I think a good historical preparation is much more than necessary. In addition to the park there is a small exhibition in a kind of hangar, spying; They are mainly descriptive panels (also on the history of the park) and then there is an interesting film in a kind of cinema room, on the training of spies (rather cute and above all it was a moment to recover from the frost outside).
Great history and statues of communist era in Hungary. Fascinating film in the long barn building. Good history inside long building as well. Cool bunker with the boots, friendly entrance staff. Wish they took better care of it, though. It's run down and shows. I would go again.
A little bit outside the city but easy to get there via bus line. Worth a visit if you have time but not a must do. Lots of statues from the communist era. I wish they would have some more info on the various statues and their significance and original placement.
