Keukenhof, Lisse

Garden Park Must See
Visit Keukenhof, the world's second-largest flower garden. With more than 7 million flowers in bloom every year from March to May, this is also called the Garden of Europe. The park was founded in 1949 on 15th-century hunting grounds that were developed to display Dutch and European hybrids. Discover 32 hectares (79 acres) of colorful, blossom-filled parkland. Walk through Castle Keukenhof which was built in 1641, view the traditional English landscape garden, and stroll along the pathways of the exotic Japanese garden. Because the Netherlands is known for tulips, you may expect to see many of them here, however, the only nearby tulip fields lie beyond the garden's borders and are privately owned. Put Keukenhof on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Lisse journey builder site .

  • We visited Keukenhof in April, during the 8 week period that you can visit the gardens. It’s just as magical as you see in all of the photos, if not more. There are beautiful, old windmills, rivers, a...  more »
  • I didn't like it, the disappointment is utter. Dihia cold. A sea of people. Huge territory, to find a way out to the parking lot where your transport was parked, was not easy. Just tulips, rows of tulips.... And that's it. My favorite flowers, but I didn't expect such disappointment, drove 4 hours before this park, generally went to Gollandia for it . Much more interesting in Germany, for example, there is a park of flowers in the city of Constanta, there and dahlias height above people, and roses, and in general a sea of all sorts of flowers, and a lake with swans, and the atmosphere. It's different here. Although, I wish everyone who goes there, that they like!

  • One of the well maintained flower garden with International reputation. Best time to visit during May June when the flowers would be blooming. Entire country side you can see huge well maintained tulip gardens which are for commercial purpose Cycles are available for rent which will help you roam around the country side. From Amsterdam central and airport many buses are available to reach this advisable to carry your own food. It's like a Dreamland. Lots of goodies available for purchase
  • We went here in the tulip season and it was amazing. Just as I expected to be. The place is huge and it's so unexpected and beautiful. It's a MUST see place. I definitely recommend it. I hope to go back one day.
